Inspired by traditional Scotch whisky, Torii took a Japanese approach by choosing a completely different terrain and climate from Scotland to create a unique type of whisky. The Yamazaki distillery is thus the birthplace of Japanese whisky. Proudly nestled on the outskirts of Kyoto, this area was once known as "Minaseno", home to some of the purest water in Japan.
