Aged in Hogsheads and matured for 6 months in Sherry Butt / outturn of 701 Bottles. 

The name Allt-á-Bhainne comes from Gaelic and means "milk stream". The distillery was founded in 1975 by Chivas Brothers, a subsidiary of Seagram. In 1989, the capacity was doubled by adding two more stills. After the takeover by Pernod Ricard on 19 December 2001, the distillery has been closed in October 2002. The distillery was reopened in May 2005.
