With Asagi Madara, the Mars whisky company has created its first 100% Japanese blended whisky. Scotch whisky is often added to blends or blended malts in addition to their own distillates. Asagi Madara is distilled holistically* at Miyada, the location of the Shinshu distillery, and is stored there for at least 8 years.

*Holistic means looking at the object as a whole.
